World Spins Madly On

Life has been keeping me hopping lately. I apologize for not keeping my blog as up to date as I would like to. But I figure it’s better late than never. Right? August was a busy month. Fire season was roaring and adventures were taking place.

I found myself traveling not only in the state of California for work but even got to take a trip to Idaho which lead me to some time spent with friends and family not only in Idaho but Oregon as well.

The first weekend of August brought my trip to Idaho. I went and spent some time with some friends in Redmond Oregon on my way up and enjoyed the Deschutes county fair. We had a great time walking around, got to catch part of the Big N Rich concert and got to watch one of my good friends from home put on an acoustic show.

After leaving Redmond I stopped by my friend’s place on the Idaho Oregon border and got to meet her newest little one and spend time with her oldest daughter. One thing about traveling is that you can stop and visit loved ones which is always a perk for me.

I finally made it to my cousin Kelly’s place in the amazing and beautiful Boise Idaho. I always love getting to spend time with Kelly and spend time in Boise. It has definitely became one of my favorite places to go.

I also made the trip to Garden Valley which is just north of Boise to visit Dino who I met during my bear hunt in Idaho the previous year. He showed me around Garden Valley more, gave me the tour of his taxidermy shop and even showed me where the natural hot springs were in the valley that I had no idea existed. Garden Valley definitely is one of a kind and filled with wild life.

Once I made it back from Garden Valley I was able to meet up with my friend’s sister Katie. She just happened to be visiting her best friend in Boise. We got a beer and caught up. We also got to check out Freak Alley in downtown Boise and it was incredible! A bunch of local artists get together the first saturday of August and repaint this alley. The art on the walls of this alley was incredible and I cant wait to go back and see the new art. Another highlight of the day was when we were walking back to the parking garage there was a group of people with signs that said free hugs so of course me being me I had to give them hugs. Little did I know it was a campaign to spread love instead of hate. I thought it was a really neat idea and I had never heard about it.

img_3824Sunday I made my way to get my trailer picked up from the yard in Nampa. I went back to Redmond to my friends where I dropped the trailer so I could go meet up with my sister Britt and her family for the evening. We went to the Les Schwab Amphitheater and watched the Pixies perform. It was a fun concert and definitely a good time. Spending time with my sister is always one of my favorite things to do.

The next couple of weeks was spent on the road towing trailers to the next fire camp or wherever they were needed. One thing about fire season is that you never know where you are going to end up or where. We also celebrated my dads 66th birthday at the house with my sister Nicole and her family.

Now the end of August got busy fast. I got a phone call asking if I wanted to attend the San Francisco giants game the next day and me being a sports lover and a Giants fan I couldn’t turn it down. So my friend Gabby picked me up and off to the game we went. We had a great time and the Giants pulled off the win. We also just made a day of it in San Francisco which lead us to Pier 39 and the fisherman’s wafer. It was a day full of laughter.

The next few days was crunch time for my trip to Seattle. I spent the first part of the week packing and getting work finished up. I moved a trailer to Fresno then spent a few days in Elk Grove with my friend and her family. She took me to the airport and I was off to visit my family in Seattle….

What they mean..

I normally try to keep my blog up to date and try to get the month we just left written up and published before the first week of the current month is over. But the month of August has been just as busy as July was and there for I am so behind on writing about July. But boy did July bring fun, adventures, traveling, and more firsts.

The beginning of July started out with my good friend Annie marrying the love of her life Blaine. Callie and I made the drive to the Yreka Ca area to a small venue that had the beautiful Mt Shasta in the background. The venue was beautiful and the wedding was so pretty. A good time was had by everyone and the bride was stunning. So thankful for the invite and getting to be a witness to that incredible wedding.

A few short days after Annie and Blaine’s wedding I started the adventure back to Wyoming with Kori and Dallas for one of my best friends since births wedding. We decided to make a trip out of it and we spent two nights and a day in beautiful Moab Utah checking out Arch’s National Park. We had a great time at the park hiking around and capturing photos. One day is never enough at Arch’s. We drove through Colorado and got to see people rafting on the river through the canyon on I70. When we got to the small town in Centennial Wyoming we found ourselves in a town that had more bars then restaurants and a super cute hotel. The next two days were spent getting the wedding venue ready for this mountain wedding. The view at the venue was beautiful. It was tucked in the mountains and tree so perfectly and the meadow where they were married was perfect. Austin and Kindle put on a great wedding and getting to spend time with the McKenzie family was definitely a highlight. There was definitely a tear in my eye watching Austin marry his best friend. I am so proud of the man he is and he got himself one heck of a girl.

As soon as we got home I had a day to recover and get ready for the Tehama District Fair. Fair went good this year no big hurdles to jump over and my niece placed first in her class so she got to move onto the final drive. I love getting to work our local fair and see how much the kids have grown and changed from one year to the next.

Three days of working fair and I was back in the truck head south to see my best friend. She moved to the Pismo Beach area which just happens to be one of my favorite places in California. I was definitely over due for some Megan time. We had an amazing quick trip that included getting to see Demi Lovato in concert at the Mid State Fair. Most people that know me know that I love Demi’s music and when Meg told me she got me tickets for my bday I was more then excited. Before the concert we went and wine tasted at two of the wineries in Paso Robles. I have learned that as long as the wine isn’t really dry I will drink it and Meg still likes the sweet wines. A few days spent with Megan are a couple days well spent. Its hard to beat time with your best friend.

After a busy and amazing month of July fire season started taking off and I was chasing the white lines delivering trailers to the base camps. Fire season definitely started off with a bang. Looking back at July it was filled with loved ones and more amazing adventures.

Wait

June..Oh what to say about this crazy busy and incredible month. Road trips, concert, camping, softball and a wedding is what this month brought.

The beginning of June my dad and I got home from our week-long road trip. On the way home I got a text saying that I should go back to Sacramento for a concert. Well little did I know when the phone call came through that it wasn’t just any concert but VIP tickets to Maroon 5. I might have literally just gotten home but when an offer like that happens you load back up and head back. The concert was incredible and was spent with two of the best gal pals any girl could have. Nella got us the tickets and Alecia and I enjoyed the heck out of the concert. It wasn’t just the amazing group Maroon 5 but Julia Michaels was the opener and if you haven’t had a chance to listen to her music you are truly missing out.

img_3024The next day after the concert brought the softball teams end of the year party. It was such a great way to say good-bye to this awesome team that not only learned from us but that we learned from. There is something so special about being a coach and getting to enjoy the girls. Three of our players went on to represent on the All Star team. They ended up winning the district but their journey ended at sections.

img_3153The next couple of weeks I worked the Horse Expo for Girls With Guns, got to spend some time at home to enjoy friends and family. But you can only keep me down for so long. So when the opportunity popped up to camp with Alecia and her family I loaded up last-minute and drove to Lake Almanor to spend time with them. I forgot how much I enjoyed camping it had been so long. Lots of laughs and memories were made.

img_3224For my birthday this year I was on the road working. I left the day before to make a run up to Boise Idaho. I stayed the first night in Lakeview with a family friend and got to enjoy the evening with her. The day of my birthday I made my way to Boise and grabbed my trailer then it was off to Bend Oregon to see my sister Britts family.  I had a great time getting to see them and my sister got me an amazing cake. My niece Zara helped me blow out my candles.  I love getting to see her and the crew.

The end of June brought a beautiful wedding up in Weed California. My friend Annie married the love of her life. It was picture perfect. Callie and I had a great time at the wedding. Im known for not liking to get my photo taken so of course I had to give her one good pics but the eye rolling photo is my favorite.

June was another months for the books. One thing that I have learned about blogging is that it is great to be able to go back through photos and see where each month has taken me. It also reminds me to be thankful for every day. Every month brings incredible things but you have to remind yourself to dig deep and enjoy the little moments.
